TIE Blog 2
I finished my voicethread on April 4th. To my surprise it went really well. The students understood exactlly what to do. I think what really helped me was that I went the day before to the classroom to practice with the students and teach them how to use the voicethread. Since they're so little I had to practice with them a few times before they got the hang of how to use the comment by using the doodle and by learning how to change the color. I also taught them how to choose an identity which they understood how to do very quickly.
When it was time for them to go to their groups they were excited to do the voicethread. I was proud that they all did a great job without any help. Looking through the final voicethread I could see that the student did an excellent job in choosing the correct answer, there were a few students that made some small mistakes.
As you can see from the voicethread, the last slide where it has a chart...was blank because I added it to the voicethread afterwards. I was planning to do this slide another day with the students but I wasn't able to do it. But I still left it on the voicethread so you can see another idea of what the students could do. The idea was for them to draw the stages of the butterfly correctlly or comment by using the voice comment to explain the stages of the life-cycle of the butterfly.
Doing this voicethread I could see that it takes alot of planning to do a good voicethread. It also takes practice and making sure that everything works well on each computer. Overall, I think it is a great idea to incorporate it in the classroom a few times, that way students are able to learn the different types of technology that is out there.

Here is the roughdraft of my voicethread
Storyboard Questions:
1. Circle the leaf, stem, flower, and roots of the plant?
(the student will color according to the color they are told to color each part)
2. What part of the flower gets the water?
3.What part of the flower does a bee get the nectar from?
4. What does a caterpillar eat? What does it turn into?
5. What are the lifecycle steps of the butterfly?

Story Board
The objective for my Pre-k class project is science/lifecyles.
Jahazia and me will be collaborating on our story board. The voice thread for our lesson will focus on Parts of a Plant and Life Cycle of a Butterfly. For Parts of a Plant slide there will be a picture of a plant and we will be talking on the voicethread telling students what they will be doing. I will have them doodle. For example: circle the leaf red.....circle the roots blue....circle the stem orange...circle the flower purple. For the next slide....Life Cycle of a Butterfly..we will also be talking on the voicethread explaining to the students what they will be doing in this section. I haven't decided if i will have the stages of the butterfly in order or out of order. If I decide to do them in order I will have the student record themselves explaining in order the stages of a butterfly. If I decide to do it out of order I will have them doodle the number. For example: In the voicethread I will be saying..put the number three on the third thing that happens in the life cycle of a butterfly...so the students will have to write the number three, with the doodle, on the picture that has the chrysalis because thats the third stage of the butterfly. This is what I have so far. I will be uploading my lesson plan, full storyboard, and the rest of the documents when I finish them.

Voice Thread
On February 2, we learned alot more things about google docs. It took me a while to understand what to do but my group finally figured it out. We figured out how to upload and share documents. Uploading pictures and videas was also interesting. I thought it was really interesting to work on this voicethread...it's really short but we have an idea of what to do.

Technology Intregration Experience (TIE) Thoughts
This is the first time ive ever heard of Voice Threads, I think its a great idea technology idea to incorporate in the classroom. I really like an example that they showed us today, where there is a picture and the students comment on the picture by making a setence, describing what they see. I aslo like how you can incorporate it into math class where you can have different types of math problems and students comment by explaining or drawing how they solved the problem.
